Company Information:

My client is a leading food manufacturing company who are looking to recruit a senior production planner working Mon to Fri 7am-4pm . The company have several other sites across the UK and supply to the major supermarkets.

You must have the following:


  • Must have FMCG experience, with food being the preference
  • Previous use of MRP systems, Short Shelf Life & Chilled Goods Products all advantageous
  • Must have Advanced Excel skills
  • Must have Excellent computer skills
  • Must have Good communication skills



Role Information:


This role will be working Monday to Friday 7am-4pm and you will be working in a team of 5 as the key point of contact in the team. The role is to plan the daily production schedule / manage and plan resources to deliver the daily plans, to ensure productivity and customer service targets are met.



  • Entering the production requirement onto the MRP system (Formix), ensuring 100% accuracy, in order to support the production plans
  • Schedule the lines within the packing hall to ensure the most efficient plan is presented, in order to meet deliveries to the customer
  • Work alongside the Material Scheduler to ensure all materials are used within their life constraints
  • Provide daily updates to the Management Team on plan attainment, orders v forecast, issues and other KPI’s
  • Work alongside the Production Team to ensure plan attainment is monitored/amended as and when necessary
  • To review sales order and forecast data and set the 21-day planning parameters for the Schedulers, providing long-term direction to the business
  • Ensure all new products / amends are correctly setup, signed off and pulling through the planning and other business systems – Formix / NAV / FOPS
  • Collating sales order data relating to IQF products, to set the daily/weekly production plan and to communicate the production plan to relevant parties
  • Ensure that all direct reports are following all technical rules, constraints, and guidelines in respect of food safety, handling of, timings and controls of, raw materials, and the managing of frozen / up-tempered products
