Job Description

JOB TITLE: Health and Safety / Quality Manager

COMMUTABLE FROM: Anlaby, Barton, Beverley, Bridlington, Brough, Cottingham, Driffield, Hull, Hessle, and Hedon

SALARY AND BENEFITS: £35k-£40k dependant on experience, Pension, 22 days Holiday

 

COMPANY INFORMATION: A market leading manufacturing company that has been established for nearly 50 years. The company supplies and installs home improvements as well as manufacturing for the construction industry. Due to the growth of the business a new key role has been created.

 

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Must have previous experience of delivering H&S and Quality within another Manufacturing, Engineering or Construction Environment in a Managerial or Lead role.
  • Must have a Nebosh Qualification
  • Must have experience of ISO9001:2015
  • Must be able to manage, lead and coach others across the business including managers
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure and the ability to prioritise Tasks
  • Must have excellent communication skills

 

ROLE INFORMATION:

This is a key role for the business and the successful post holder will be responsible for Quality and H&S across the factories, sites and offices. The successful post holder will be expected to increased performance across these areas and help drive through improvements and new set procedures and standards.

Key roles and responsibilities

Quality Manager

  • Responsible for managing the Quality Management system to ISO9001:2015 standard
  • Carry out internal audits and advise to department heads on non-conformance and improvement suggestions
  • Oversee all procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
  • Complete and submit pre-qualification questionnaires and annual maintenance of Constructionline
  • Organise the production of samples for quality testing
  • Chair the Management Review Meetings

Health and Safety

  • Responsible for implementation and management of the company Health and Safety policy and procedures
  • Carry out internal audits and advise to department heads on non-conformance and improvement suggestions
  • Assist in the preparation of health and safety documentation such as risk assessments and method statements
  • Monitoring and reporting of Health and Safety risks and hazards in the workplace (offices/factories/on site)
  • Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all Health and Safety legislation
  • Working with and training employees to manage, monitor and improve the Health and Safety standards in the workplace
  • Managing emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills) and organising emergency teams such as fire marshals and first aiders
  • Complete and submit annual CHAS application
  • Chair the Health & Safety Meetings
