Managing QS/Quantity Surveyor


COMMUTABLE FROM:  Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Wakefiled etc. 


SALARY AND BENEFITS: £50,000 - £60,000 + Company Car/Car Allowance + Bonus + 34 Days annual leave (including stats) + Healthcare + Generous Pension 




My Client is a reputable national House Builder. Due to an increase in workload they are looking to recruit a Managing QS to look after their North Western teams based from their South Yorkshire office.  




  • Knowledge of House Building industry
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to prioritise and set deadlines


Role Information:


Reporting to the Group Commercial Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering residential projects from conception to completion.  The Managing Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for problem solving of commercial issues and ensuring the business ethos is carried through to the regional offices.  Specifically duties will include the following;

  • Producing site start budgets
  • Procure all subcontract trades ensuring subcontractor prequalification criteria have been met
  • Manage the payment process for specialist subcontractors
  • Ensure payments are made in accordance with the agreed payment terms.
  • In accordance with the prescribed timetable, review /approve monthly performance valuations, including cost to complete assessments using the approved system.
