JOB TITLE: Mechanical Technician


COMMUTABLE FROM: Kirkbymooreside, Darlington, Malton, Middlesbrough, Scarborough, Thirsk, Wetherby, Whitby, York




£25-26K O/T Time & Half Mon- Sat Double Time Sun

37 Hours Per Week (8.30am- 4.30pm Mon- Thu 8.30am- 4pm Fri)

COMPANY INFORMATION: My client is a global Manufacturing firm which provides its specialist products to the Oil, Gas and Maritime Industries.



  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Must be hard working, able to work under pressure.
  • Minimum 3 years machine shop experience.
  • Working knowledge of standard measurements, such as those used for threads and tapers, and a good understanding of the working qualities of various metals and plastics




  • Set up, program and operate CNC Hurco and/or Mazak milling machines ·
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and tolerances
  • Competent in the use of precision measuring devices
  • Complete Quality documentation (NCR, ECN etc.)
  • Carry out standard machine maintenance  
  • Ability to operate manual milling machines
  • Capable of working with limited supervision
  • Willing to undertake flexible working hours (may include overtime, shift work, ad hoc)


To manufacture components and parts, generally from aluminium, stainless steel and plastics, in accordance with drawings, technical specifications and tolerances.
