Company Information

 

My client is a leading firm who supply and manufacture to a wide range of industries including Chemical, Water, Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Food Processing, Glass, Paper and Print. My client want to take on an Industrial Electrician to work mainly in the workshop with some site work also involved. The hours of work are Mon-Thurs 730am-430pm and Friday 730am-12 noon.

 

You must have the following:

 

  • Experience of working as an Electrician in an Engineering Workshop or Manufacturing

 

  • Must have experience with Electrical Cabling and Tray work

 

  • Must have worked with SWA Cables or CY  Control Cables

 

  • Must have Electrical Installation experience

 

  • Ideally be apprentice trained Electrician, but at a minimum have some Electrical qualifications

 

  • Ideally have experience of wiring control panels, cable instrument skids and testing.

 

Duties

 

 

  • Able to work to Electrical Schematic diagrams and Control Panel Layout drawings
  • Accustomed to working with equipment suitable for voltages from 400v 3 phase to various control dc and ac voltages
  • Experience with analogue and digital circuits
  • Experience in fitting Cable Tray (Stainless Steel and Galvanised) and Conduit
  • SWA cable, Glanding with various types of Glands and terminating in Junction Boxes, Instrumentation and Valve actuators etc.
  • Accustomed to EExd explosion proof equipment and I.S. apparatus
  • COMPEX qualification preferred but not essential
  • Accustomed to using boot lace ferrules, various insulated terminals, Automatic Wire Strippers, Crimping Tools (to Crimping Procedures) and various Test Instruments for loop checking etc.
  • Able to assemble Electrical Control Panels to in-house designs with minimum supervision
  • Able to fit electrical components into Control Panels onto back plates
  • Able to wire between terminals and components within Control Panels to Schematic Drawings
  • Capable to wire to plc cards / plugs (of Siemens and Allen Bradley plcs)
  • Experience in measuring, marking out and cutting Control Panels for fitting of Control Buttons, Display Screens etc. to layout drawings
  • Familiar with Loop Check testing
  • Note: Working on site may be required
