Shift M/S Maintenance Engineer, Shift M/S Maintenance Technician  

Location- Commutable from Beverley, Barton, Brough, Cottingham, Driffield, Hessle, Howden, Hull, Goole, Market Weighton, North Ferriby, Willerby.

Salary and Benefits

£35,000-£37,500 + Overtime + Bonus + Contributory Pension + Other Benefits

Company Information

My client are a leading manufacturer of innovative products for the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors. The company are well established and have other sites across the UK. They are at the forefront of innovation and are always looking for product improvements and launching new product ranges.

You must have the following:

  • Must have served a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineer
  • Must have previously worked in an industrial / factory / manufacturing maintenance based environment.
  • Must be multi-skilled although either bias will be considered
  • Must be driven and have a hunger to learn
  • Must be a team player and be able to communicate with other engineers and production staff
  • Must be a problem solver and understand manufacturing systems
  • Must be IT literate and have good PC skills


The successful candidate will work as part of a small maintenance team, on a rotating shift pattern, whose primary focus is to increase production equipment reliability through planned maintenance methods and improvement projects, whilst ensuring plant and machinery are operating at optimum efficiency. You will be required to respond quickly in the event of equipment breakdown applying effective problem solving and communication skills to implement a robust and permanent solution.


Key Duties:

  • The role is shift based and operates over a seven day period covering a mixture of days and nights.
  • Demonstrating electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, programming and organisational skills
  • Tasked to continually increase the reliability of the production process through conducting effective planned maintenance activities, inspections and repair work on all manufacturing equipment.
  • To promptly attend, undertake fault finding and implement robust solutions.
  • Capable of enhancing personal skills to operate robotic, CAD and PLC systems.
  • To interact with the CMMS, communicating all maintenance activities consistently.
  • Support the preparation and facilitation of PM activities for the weekend.
  • Take ownership of spare part stock control and order replacement items when required.
  • Ensure all risk assessments and safe systems of work are updated, trained and followed.
  • Support and implement continuous improvement programs including introduction of new products.
  • Ensure 5S standards are progressed and maintained at the local level.
  • Any other general duties.


The company can boast an impressive site with modern technology on site including robotics, lasers, thermos-forming machinery, and material handling equipment, conveyors and some CNC machines. The company have already introduced various lean manufacturing procedures and want to achieve world class manufacturing standards in the next few years.
