Based in East Yorkshire - Commutable from Beverley, Bridlington, Brigg, Barton, Cottingham, Driffield, Hedon, Hessle, Hornsea, Hull, Preston, Willerby.

My client is a leading food manufacturing company with sites across the UK. The company are going through significant growth at present as demand increases. They are looking to recruit an Assistant Technical Manager role to join the team.

Proven experience in a lead Technical role within the Food sector whether it is an Asst Tech Mgr or a QA mgr looking for the next step up

Role:
• Ensure that the function of the factory and employees are operating in line with Health and Safety requirements.
• Ensure that the Technical team, including the job holder, work an Ethical manner with everyone that works or visits the site and that people are treated with respect at all times.
• To Manage and develop the QA Team including QAS, QA and TA
• To be a Leader of the site HACCP team to ensure compliance to Codex principles and best practice (externally and within the group).
• To be part of the Artwork approval process for all retailer and own brand packaging.
• To attend, and where directed by the Technical Manager, lead 3rd Party or Retailer visits and to ensure that the site is prepared for all known visits.
• Fully involved in process design, validation and implement any additional system requirements
• To drive improvements, by working with the Operations and Technical team, to reduce complaints and other non-conformances.
• To review and update the company procedures and systems in-line with 3rd Party standards and Retailer Codes of Practices to ensure continuous compliance.
• To ensure that site Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are monitored and communicated to the senior management team and where issues are highlighted to develop corrective actions to ensure that root causes are established and prevented.
• To assist the Technical Manager in completing Retailer KPI reports on their appropriate IT systems to the required timescale and with the appropriate information.
• To cover to the Technical Manager in their absence.
• To attend, where directed by the Technical Manager or in their absence, the Divisional Technical Manager and Site Management meetings and to assist in the generation of the appropriate KPI reports. 
• To complete, where necessary, any appropriate internal audit as directed by the Technical Manager.
