Maintenance Manager / Engineering Manager

Location- Commutable from Beverley, Barton, Brigg, Bridlington, Cottingham, Driffield, Hessle, Hornsea, Hull, Goole, Grimsby, Market Weighton, Scunthorpe ,Willerby.

-          This role has been created to become the site Engineering Manager within 12-18 months. This time will give the post holder the opportunity to fully learn the site and do a detailed handover with the current Engineering Manager.

Company Information

My client is part of a worldwide manufacturing group who supply to industries all over the world. They are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to lead a team of 8 Engineers. The position is being recruited as succession planning for the upcoming retirement of their Engineering Manager.

You must have the following:

-          Must be degree qualified or working towards degree status

-          Must have worked as a Maintenance Manager / Engineering Supervisor/Engineering Team Leader in an industrial / factory / manufacturing-based environment before.

-          Must have a good understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

-          Candidates should have good knowledge of health and safety legislation and relevant environmental regulations.

-          A demonstrable commitment to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in work roles to date is essential.

-          Excellent man management and interpersonal skills.

 

Role :

The person appointed will be the intended successor for the position of Engineering Manager to whom they will in the first instance report. The appointee will take responsibility for the direction, motivation and development of a multi-disciplined site maintenance team. They will liaise closely with factory production management to:

  • Plan and co-ordinate PPM activities for our varied range of production plant to ensure its world class reliability.
  • Support and drive factory output target achievement through continuously improved OEEs.
  • Lead engineering improvements to support the priority of continuous improvement in both safety and product quality.
  • Within the site engineering team, lead and develop the framework for compliance and on-going improvement in safety performance.
  • Manage the use of contractors and consultants as appropriate.
