1. Carry out standard machine maintenance.
2. Sets up and operates machine tools and fits/assembles part to make or repair metal parts, mechanisms, tools and machines. Applies knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties and layout machining procedures.
3. Must be able to hold very close tolerance at all times.
4. Must be capable of studying specifications such as drawings, sketches or descriptions of part to be produced and plan sequence of operations.
5. Must be competent in the use of precision measuring devices and all types of layout work.
6. Produce NC programs, prove and store (where applicable).
