My client is a leading specialist manufacturing company who need to recruit a manufacturing engineer.
Duties
- Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, machining processes and fabrication processes, tooling, equipment resource capabilities, assembly methods and established quality and workmanship standards.
- Analyse and plan work force utilisation, space requirements and workflow to design workspace and equipment layouts for maximum efficiency.
- Interact with Engineering concerning product design and fit for manufacturing.
- Interact with purchasing and suppliers to determine product design and fit for manufacturability.
- Interact with planning to establish accurate part and assembly process routings and process times.
- Coordinate with Production Management on production schedules, tooling and equipment procurement, and process improvement.
The candidate must have performed a manufacturing role before and be aware of design and manufacturing processes. The candidate is also expected to have experience in manufacturing functions such as machining, fabrication and process control/planning.
